A Little Stretching Goes A Long Way: How My Stretching Transformed My Student’s Life

Most people feel the need to stretch their bodies. But time seems to be the biggest obstacle that keeps them from getting started and staying with it!

Let me encourage you... 

You don’t have to find an hour in your day to stretch to make a big difference in your flexibility, mobility and range of motion and a decrease in painful joints.

A little bit of stretching goes a long way!

Research shows that stretching for as little as 5-10 minutes daily is more beneficial than a longer session once a week. 

Another reason most people don’t stretch daily is not knowing the proper form and what muscles to stretch.  

This is where I come in!

Let me tell you an inspiring story from one of my stretching students.

On her first day in my class, she could barely walk into the room. Her feet were bound in wraps because she was suffering from plantar fasciitis. If you have ever had it, you know how painful every step can be!

When I greeted her, I asked her about her feet. She told me, with dismay and frustration, that she had tried everything to find relief, but nothing had helped. She was going to give stretching a try. 

Her painful foot condition, combined with her stressful job and having to work at a desk from home because of Covid-19, meant that she was spending most of her days sitting. She wasn’t moving around as much, and had gained some weight as a result.

I could hear the pain in her voice and feel the stress in her energy. She was so distraught!

But as for me, my heart filled with joy because I knew she had come to the right place.

I knew she was going to find relief with stretching if she would stick with it!

Somehow, after that first class, she slipped out of the room before I could check in with her to see how she felt. I couldn’t stop thinking about her and hoping that she was okay.

Well, during my next stretching class, I arrived to teach and who do you think was the first person in line to get in the door and claim her spot?

YEP… there she was!

I can’t tell you how excited I was to see her there.

She told me that she had experienced some relief not only in her feet, but her entire body. She was going to stay with stretching for a while to see if it would continue to help!

Music to my ears!

Fast forward 10 months...

>> She started stretching daily on her own at home.

>> Her foot wraps came off in the first month.

>> She has no more foot pain and moves with ease.

>> She started taking strength/barre classes twice a week.

>> She has lost 10 lbs. and looks amazing.

>> Her energy level and spirit are through the roof.

She has made a complete 180 from when I met her during that first stretch class!

I love telling this story because it is confirmation to me that if you stick with a daily routine of Assisted Stretching, it can truly change your life!

It can give you a better quality of life. It can give you hope that you don’t have to be stuck in your body. It can keep you mobile and pain free.

It is worth investing time to learn how to stretch—the payout is life changing!
